Home College Information
What we do:
- Hire and pay the awesome faculty who teach CCCOnline courses
- Take established on-campus classes and create a virtual classroom to deliver the same information to students online
- Maintain the quality of our courses by carefully tracking student and faculty interaction
- Provide as much technical academic support as we can, including tutoring services
- Enter grades into the computer system all 13 colleges share on behalf of students who take our courses
- Set up the Accuplacer™ placement test for students who don’t live near one of our Colorado campuses
- Maintain the BlackBoard Vista platform – that’s the software used in your classes
- Answer whatever questions we can and send you to the right person at your Home College if we can’t
- Keep up with the latest technology and look for ways to use it in our classes
What we don't do:
- Keep student records
- Provide transcripts
- Process your application to college
- Provide career counseling
- Help you transfer your credits
- Issue your degree or certificate
- Take your tuition payment – that goes to your Home College
- Charge you for parking!
What you need to do:
- Pick a home college that offers the degree or certificate you want to pursue. If you are interested in a particular CCCOnline program, visit the program page and see if there are any restrictions on which Home College you should choose.
- If there are no restrictions on which college you choose, pick the one that either is closest to home or easily accessible for you in case you need to visit the campus to talk to an advisor, pay a tuition bill or any other reason.
- If you are an out-of-state student and have no restrictions on which Home College you choose, click around the different Web sites and see which one you like.
Home Colleges
CCCOnline is not a college! CCCOnline is an accredited virtual organization and part of the Colorado Community College System's (CCCS) 13 two-year land colleges across the state. CCCOnline works as an online conduit, providing the service of delivering courses from those 13 land colleges – plus Dawson Community College in Glendive, Mont. -- all online.
Before students can take a CCCOnline course, they must apply and be admitted to one of the 13 Home Colorado Community College land-based campuses. Once admitted to a CCCS Home College of thier choice, students can register for CCCOnline classes online each and every semester.
CCCOnline as a virtual campus supports the CCCS Home Colleges. So you can be assured if you take most, or all of your classes at CCCOnline that your classes are accredited and transferrable to any other Colorado State colleges, 2 year or 4 year, alike. Another convienent feature about CCCOnline, is that you can access all your courses 24/7 from your home, office, or any other computer that has access to the internet.
CCCOnline does not provide all of the services students recieve at their Home College campus, but we assist out students with technical support, textbooks and other necessary online materials, to name a few. The services students can and should ultilize from their Home College is Enrollment, Advising, Registration, and Accuplacer™ placement tests, or Computer Lab related questions.
