Grade Appeal Process
Students may appeal a grade received in a course under certain provisions, including errors in grading which were not subsequently corrected by the course instructor.
A grade appeal must be initiated by a student within 30 calendar days of the end of the semester or term in which the grade was awarded. Students should be aware that generally only faculty members, a grade appeal committee, or academic dean may change a grade. Therefore, the first step a student should take when appealing a grade is to discuss the problem with his or her instructor. If the problem is not resolved at that level, the student may meet with the CCCOnline Department Chair. Following a meeting with the department chair a student may contact the CCCOnline Academic Dean.
If agreement cannot be reached at this time the student must follow the grade appeal procedure at his/her college.
Guest Lecturers
Faculty are encouraged to use guest lecturers in their classes where appropriate. To arrange access for a guest lecturer please see the Dean of Academic Technology, David Chatham, (David.Chatham@cccs.edu). In general remuneration is not provided for the guests.
H
High-School Students
In 1989, the Colorado State Legislature enacted the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act. This law allows juniors and seniors attending a public high school the opportunity to attend college if approved by the school district. The credit earned in college can apply in some instances to both high school and college graduation.
High-school staff such as advisors are sometimes given access to classes in which high-school students are enrolled. If you know you have a high-school student enrolled in your class and s/he is not doing well please notify advising and they will follow up with the high school.

International Students
An international student is a student who is not a U.S. citizen and is not classified by U.S. immigration as a resident alien. At most colleges these students are required to meet with the International Student Advisor when selecting courses for registration and when adjusting their schedule. Because international students have stringent Immigration and Naturalization regulations to follow regarding their education, any concerns you have with these students should be discussed with advising.
