Online Writing Lab (OWL)
CCCOnline utilizes the services of the Community College of Denver’s Online Writing Lab (OWL). Instructors from any classes can recommend the OWL to their students who would like writing assistance. There is no charge to either students or faculty.
The OWL is found at http://owl.ccd.cccoes.edu/owl/ and describes itself thusly:
The CCD OWL began to offer online tutoring in fall 1997. We welcome registered students and community writers.
We have a staff of five cybertutors. Tutors check twice daily, Monday through Saturday, for requests for online tutoring. Our goal is to return questions within 6 hours and papers within 24 hours. We continue to check the OWL for requests during breaks in the academic calendar, but may need a longer time to respond.
In addition to online tutoring, the OWL site has writing handouts; a writing space for postcards, poetry and other kinds of personal writing; and lots of links for students, instructors, and other writers. Soon, we'll offer forums so OWL users can enjoy discussions with other users.
We invite you to explore the OWL. We believe it is a place where you can find your voice.
