Using Web for Faculty

The Web for Faculty (or Web 4 Faculty) is a secure web site where faculty can perform a number of functions. The link to the Web for Faculty is usually included at the end of the Course Menu in your classes.

Instructions are available here for the following Web for Faculty functions:

Submitting No Show Reports

Shortly after the start of each semester, you will be notified of the deadline for submitting No Show reports. These are submitted online. The procedures below may be similar to those used by other institutions in the Community College system; however, there may be some differences, so please follow these directions for CCCOnline courses.

If you have any problems with the Web for Faculty System, you can contact the registrar's office at 1.800.801.5040 or Roxanne.Manske@cccs.edu.

  1. Go to https://cccweb.cccs.edu/faculty/login.jsp?school=CCCS
and click on "Click Here to Enter"
Web 4 Faculty - login page
  1. Enter your ID (SSN, without dashes) and PIN (usually your
date of birth, mmddyy, unless you have changed it previously)
  2. Select Term (such as Summer 2005) from Drop down box
    Web 4 Faculty - options
  3. Click Select Course on left-hand menu
  4. Select course from drop down box
  5. Click Grade Roster on left-hand menu
  6. Find the correct student
  7. In the Last Date of Attendance field enter No-Show
  8. Do Not enter any other grade information at this time

This information will be reported to the student's home colleges as needed. Some colleges will then drop the students, but not all colleges drop no-show students, so some students may remain on your roster.

If you get timed out, please try logging in again. If you are still unable to submit the report, please feel free to e-mail it directly to Roxanne Manske.

Submitting Grades

Near the end of each semester, you will be notified of the deadline for submitting grades. Grades are submitted online: You do not need to submit a hard copy of your grades. The procedures below may be similar to grading procedures used for any on-campus courses you may be teaching for the Community College system; however, there may be some differences, so please follow these directions for grading your CCCOnline courses.

If you have any problems with the Web for Faculty System, you can contact the registrar's office at 1.800.801.5040 or helpdesk@ccconline.org.

  1. Go to https://cccweb.cccs.edu/faculty/login.jsp?school=CCCS and click
    on "Click Here to Enter"
  2. Enter your ID and PIN. (Contact Roxanne Manske if you need assistance with your ID and PIN.)
  3. Select Term (e.g., Summer 2005) from the drop down box
  4. Click "Select Course" on left-hand menu
  5. Select the correct course from the drop down box
  6. Click "Grade Roster" on the left-hand menu
  7. Enter the appropriate grade for each student listed.
    o Valid Grade options are A, B, C, D, F, I, S, U
  8. Important Notes - Once entered, a grade CANNOT be changed online. To change a grade, you MUST complete a "Grade Change Form." A grade of "W" cannot be entered: Any grade of "W" should already be entered into the system and listed on the grade roster. (Note: The Grade Change Form can usually be found in the Faculty Lounge for your discipline, or contact your program chair.)
  9. Enter a Last Date of Attendance for any grade of "W" or "F." (Note: To determine the Last Date of Attendance, you can use the Track Students feature in WebCT and use the last time the student accessed the course.)
  10. Select "Submit" to submit your grades.
  11. This information will be reported to the student's home
colleges. This process usually takes about 24 hours after you have entered grades.

Please keep a hard copy of your grades for reference.

Since all colleges enter grades at approximately the same time, the system may be slow to respond. If you get timed out, please try logging in again. If you are still unable to submit the grades, please feel free to e-mail them directly to Roxanne Manske.

Emailing Students

CCCOnline Faculty use the Web for Faculty (https://cccweb.cccs.edu/faculty/login.jsp?school=CCCS) to submit final course grades and obtain the most current version of class lists. However, you may not be aware you can use Web for Faculty to email your students at their external (generally home) email addresses. This is a terrific way to send all your students a "welcome to class" message just before the beginning of the term.

To locate the email tool, login to Web for Faculty using the password provided to you. Choose the correct semester, then a particular course to view the enrollment roster. If you scroll down to near the bottom of the page, you’ll see a message box, an empty space for the subject line and the submit button.

Web 4 Faculty email

To send email to individual students, click the box next to the student’s name in class roster, then move down the page and type in your subject line and your message, and then just click on submit. To send email to all the students on your roster, type in your subject line and message, then click on the box above the message area labeled “Select all students” and finally, click on Submit. Since you had to enter a working email address the first time you logged on to Web for Faculty, your email is also in the system, so you’ll also receive a copy of any email you send from the email tool.

There’s a small possibility that the student’s email may be incorrect or that the student didn’t include an email address when registering, but this is usually a very small number of students. To be safe, you might want to ask students for up-to-date email addresses.

Printing Class Rosters

Web for Faculty also has an option that creates a printable version of the enrollment roster, complete with each student’s major, phone number and email address. You’ll find the link for the printable version at the top of the class roster along with a link that will let you view an Excel spreadsheet version of your class roster. You can save this as an Excel file and edit out what you don’t want and add different headings to create a simple grade book to keep track of student grades over the semester.

Take some time to try these tools out; they may save you some time!
