Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician is a program designed to train the student to prepare to take the CCENT certification exam (CCENT Exam Information) through Cisco. CCCOnline is now offering two of the CCENT courses CNG245 and CNG246* (see course offerings and requisites below).
The Cisco CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) certification validates the skills required for entry-level network support positions, the starting point for many successful careers in networking. Candidates in this program will gain the knowledge and skills to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. CCENT certification is the first step toward achieving CCNA, which covers medium size enterprise branch networks with more complex connections.

*Important Note: The CCENT curriculum taught at CCCOnline for this certificate is governed by Cisco Networking Academy (CNA). Cisco requires that all students successfully complete the first course (e.g., CNG 245) or have taken a similar CCNA course within the Cisco Networking Academy before enrolling or taking in the second course (e.g., CNG 246) of the CCCENT program. If you have not taken Cisco courses through CCCOnline or at another Cisco Networking Academy (CNA) location, it is strongly recommended that you enroll into CNG245 first, and prior to taking CNG246. If you are unsure if you meet these requirements, contact the Program Chair, who will advise and determine if you have met the appropriate CNA course requirements necessary. If you have taken a pre-requisite course at another location, other than CCCOnline, please contact the Program Chair, and provide your Cisco ID and the CNA location of your previous course work or training; the Program Chair can then align your CNA records with CCCOnline records, before the next semester's course work begins.
