Online Tutoring Services

CCD OWL

The Community College of Denver Online Writing Lab (OWL) (link opens in new browser) offers online tutoring for CCCOnline students. The OWL is an extension of the classroom learning environment with rich and varied resources that a student can use with or without the tutor services. Tutors are available to comment on papers and will teach many aspects of the writing process. Students may send papers any hour or day, and the turnaround time for comments is 24 to 48 hours. In addition to tutoring services, there are grammar and punctuation writing handouts, sample papers with tutor comments to study, and links to websites for grammar, writing, and documentation areas.

SMARTHINKING

Our campus is offering a service to our students, SMARTHINKING, a web-based tutoring service. This service supplements our existing academic support services by offering real-time online tutoring and homework help for core courses and skills 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

CCCOnline brought SMARTHINKING to add another learning option for our students. This service is available whether they are stuck at 2AM on a problem set that is due on your desk in the morning, or need extra help communicating their thoughts in their writing assignments.

SMARTHINKING is not an answering or proofreading/editing service. Students can access live tutorials in writing across all subjects, math, accounting, statistics and economics, as well as a full range of study resources, including writing manuals, sample problems, research tools, and study skills manuals. Students can access the service from wherever they have a connection to the Internet.
