About CCCOnline

What is CCCOnline? Got to Top of Page

Colorado Community Colleges Online is not a college in and of itself; it belongs to a consortium of partner colleges. The CCCOnline consortium is comprised of thirteen member colleges in the Colorado Community College system, Dawson Community College of Montana, Northwest Missouri State University, and Pickens Tech of Denver.

Through CCCOnline, you can now earn fully accredited Associate of Arts degrees, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and Certificates in various disciplines at the partner colleges. Colorado Community Colleges, and most consortium colleges, are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; Dawson is accredited by the Northwest Association of Colleges and Schools.

CCCOnline instructors often come from our partner institutions and are among the best instructors in the nation. So while you may be a student through one consortium college, your instructor may be from another college, and your classmates may be from yet other colleges. This allows you to experience a wide range of diverse opinions and experiences and greatly enhances your learning environment.

How does CCCOnline work?
Got to Top of Page

CCCOnline courses are offered on the Web by means of a course-management system called WebCT. WebCT allows us to provide you with interactive course materials, course email, and course exams. If you have looked at the Sample courses you already have an idea of what our courses are like.

CCCOnline courses are NOT self-paced or independent-study learning. CCCOnline students are expected to participate in their online courses following procedures and timelines established by the instructor. You can expect to spend at least as much time working in your online class as you would in an on-campus class. While you do not have to be online at a set time, the online courses do require a lot of work on your part.

To take courses from CCCOnline, you must first choose one of our partner colleges to enroll in. That college will be your "home" college, where your application for enrollment is made and your records kept. However, when taking courses online you never have to go to the campus.

Once enrolled at your home college you may register for CCCOnline courses. While you register through the home college you've selected, you are actually registering for a course delivered by CCCOnline. After you have finished your course(s), your grades will be recorded in a college transcript at your home college, not by CCCOnline.

On the Friday prior to the start of class, you will receive another e-mail that will give you directions on how to get into your course and also will give you your WebCT ID and password.

CCCOnline courses cannot be accessed until the first day of class, usually around noon. You will be sent directions on how to access your courses via e-mail on the Friday prior to the first day of class.

Is CCCOnline accredited? Got to Top of Page

Yes, CCCOnline and our partner colleges are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. For more information on the accrediting commission, visit their web site at NCA Higher Learning Commission (link will open in new window).
